History

The COGIC, USA - INTERNATIONAL Church officially traces its roots to the 1906 Pentecostal movement that culminated at Azusa Street in Los Angeles and the Bishop Charles Harrison Mason. Bishop J. L. Payne, a convert of Bishop Charles Harrison Mason and also son in Ministry of Bishop A. B. McEwen in the early days of Pentecostal move under the leadership of Bishop Mason and Bishop McEwen; raised up in Memphis, Tennessee found the genuine experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and shortly after the initial COGIC outpouring experience from the Azusa Street (New Testament PENTECOSTAL Church's experience); LATER IN HAWAII, CALIFORNIA, returning to Memphis, Tennessee, Jackson, Mississippi where he continued preaching and publishing materials under the name "The Christ International Churches, Inc...underlining his roots in the organization structure he found in 1986 (The COGIC, USA - INTERNATIONAL Church) was separate from the almost-identical group (in Doctrine) headed by Bishop C.H. Mason which also went by the same name; COGIC, Church in Memphis. With this differentiation between the two "The COGIC, USA - INTERNATIONAL Church" became official and is sometimes disputed; but the The COGIC, USA - INTERNATIONAL Church marks Chief Apostle J. L. Payne participation in the original move of God under Apostle William Seymour's revivals and Bishop Charles Harrison Mason's founding of the COGIC CHURCH as its organizational foundation.

Since the year of 1986 the Presiding Bishop and Chief Apostle of the COGIC, USA - INTERNATIONAL has been Bishop J. L. Payne roots in the Jackson, Mississippi Headquarters. Today the ministry has resulted in a worldwide organization spanning many cultures and nations of the earth.

Guidance into laying a True Foundation

"Before anything of worth can be built to endure, there must be a foundation laid. There can never be lasting results in life and ministry, nor can we expect to grow, build, or simply soar into a great or supernatural dimensions of God in this time or eternity without a clear Word and Holy Spirit foundation laid according to scriptures."

Thy Kingdom Come! If there is any one phase that would describes the Kingdom of God, it who undoubtedly be "The place where God rules and reigns." God is the source of all knowledge and He has a full and perfect understanding of everything” (Colossians 2:3). Not only has God known all of His works from the beginning of time (Acts 15:18), but He is also the one and only one who is able to declare the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:9-10). There is a revealed truth that from the very beginning God has been building His' Kingdom in the earth and preparing man to enter His Kingdom. The church was formed or created for the Kingdom and over the ages God has been building His Kingdom through the church. The Term "Church' is not synonymous with the terms "Kingdom of God" or" Kingdom of Heaven." These two terms cannot be used interchangeably in the New Testament. The Kingdom of God is greater than the church. The church is a mystery of God and is involved in the eternal purpose of God in the earth. The Apostle Paul was given an understanding and a revelation of what God was moving toward in the church in bringing forth His' will in the earth through the church. The Kingdom is clearly another domain, as we shall study in details in this book and discover that the kingdom and the church are at the very center of God ultimate purpose and plan in the earth
